Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect information in one place only: the survey request form. Nothing is gathered from you simply for reading the site.

When you submit that form, we receive:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The address of the property the survey concerns
• The type of survey you selected, if you chose one
• Anything you typed into the project details box
• Any documents you chose to attach

What we do not collect

This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixels, no tag manager, and no session or local storage. We do not build a profile of you, and we have no way to recognise you on a return visit.

No third-party service is contacted by your browser when you view a page. Typefaces are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a font provider, so no request leaves this site as a side effect of reading it.

Because we do not track visitors, there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We honour it by not tracking anyone in the first place.

Your IP address

When you submit the form, our server briefly reads the IP address the request arrived from. It is used for one purpose: to limit how many submissions can come from the same source in a short window, which is what keeps the form from being used to flood our inbox.

That value is held in memory for about ten minutes and then discarded. It is never written to our database, never attached to your enquiry, and never used to identify you.

Separately, our host keeps ordinary server logs of requests to the site, as essentially every web host does. Those logs include IP addresses and are retained by the host for a limited period under its own policy. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Why we hold it, and the legal basis

We hold what you send so that we can respond to your enquiry, prepare a scope of services and a fee proposal, and keep an ordinary business record of work we were asked to quote for.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to market to you beyond replying about the project you asked about.

Who else handles it

Running a website means using service providers, and your enquiry passes through three of them. We list them by name and location because a vague summary would not let you make an informed decision:

• Vercel — hosts the website. Vercel is a United States company, and it delivers pages from a network of servers around the world, so the copy of a page you read may be served from somewhere near you rather than from the United States.
• Supabase — stores your enquiry and any documents you attach, in a database region in Oregon, United States. The documents are held in a private store that is not reachable from the public internet.
• Resend — delivers the notification email to our office. Resend processes this in its Asia Pacific region, in Tokyo, Japan, which means the contents of your enquiry leave the United States in the course of that delivery.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and attached documents for as long as we need them to respond and to maintain a record of the request. We do not currently delete them on a fixed schedule.

If you would like your enquiry and any documents removed, tell us and we will delete them, unless we are required to keep them for a legal or professional-records reason. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have these rights under law; we offer them to everyone who asks regardless.

Children

This site is aimed at people commissioning land surveys and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Security, honestly stated

Your enquiry travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in a database that is not readable by the public. Uploaded documents go to a private store, and the file types and sizes we accept are checked on the server rather than trusted from your browser.

No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to. If you have something genuinely sensitive to send, call us and we will arrange a better way than a web form.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and update the date at the top. Material changes deserve more than a silent edit, so we will say what changed.
